Zoey Clarke represents GB in a great win and a National Age Group record at the European U23 Championships

After several days of sitting in the Team hotel, Zoey got her chance to run in the women’s 4x400m relay final on Sunday 12th July! The Life of an International runner is not all glamorous as there was a great deal of doing very little for days in Tallinn  and then  the team had to cope with a  last minute change to plans when it became clear that the race was a straight final with no heats on the Saturday. Zoey ran a fantastic second leg, holding the advantage given to her by Seren Bundy Davis and there was no way Zoey was going to concede her lead advantage over the Russian, Polish and German team runners.

Front running in a relay race requires confidence and a steady mind, and Zoey was able to hand over the baton in the lead to Victoria Ohuruogo, and Kirsten McAslan once again ran a strong last leg to hold of the Polish Runner to bring the team home with a great win and a National Age Group record of  3:30.07!  The Splits for the run  were as follow (Bundy-Davies 52.1, Zoey Clark 52.7, Ohuruogo 53.18, Kirsten McAslan 51.99).
