Weekend round up: Big PB’s for TVH athletes at the London Marathon

This last weekend was a great weekend for sport with our athletes competing in the YDL matches, the mini marathon, BUCs 10k and of course the Virgin Money London Marathon! In total we had 9 TVH men and 5 TVH complete the 26.2 miles around London on Sunday.  Getting around itself is a massive achievement, but smiles and celebrations were in order as 6 of our athletes set personal bests!

Special mention to Victoria Carter who narrowly missed out on a Guinness World Record running as part of a 3 person sausage dog!

Well done to all of our runners!

This weekend also saw two of our student athletes compete in the BUCs 10000m championships. Petros Surafel put in a solid performance to take the win for St Mary’s in 29:26:58! Daniel Mulryan just missed out on the podium for Imperial placing 4th in a very respectable pb of 30:22:89!

Mini Marathon

It was great to see a number of our young athletes competing in the mini marathon on Sunday morning. We had over 30 athletes in the race which is outstanding. Notable performances include Izzy Franco and  Charlotte Buckley finishing 2nd and 5th respectively in the U17 girls and Max Bishop finishing 7th in U13 boys! We also had a number of athletes finishing within the top 50 in the Borough challenge which I have included below. Fantastic running!
