Having finished 1st in their respective qualifying pools, Lia Stephenson and Montana Jackson were the class act in the triple jump final where they were both well over half a metre ahead of their closest rival. Lia jumped a new indoor personal best distance of 12.66m to claim her first gold BUCS medal. Montana jumped a new life time best distance of 12.44m for the silver medal. Along with Angela Barrett, TVH have three of the top triple jumpers in the country and we look forwards seeing them push each other to even further distances.

Other highlights from the weekend came from:
Clieo Stephenson, who just missed out again on an individual medal, improving by one position from 2015 to place 4th in the 60m final in 7.61, having run 7.56 in her semi-final. Clieo captained her Brunel University 4x200m team to well deserved gold medals with a final time from the quartet of 1:39.24.
There were two outstanding performances in the 400m and 800m from Chris McAllister and Gil Machado in their respective events. Both Chris (48.37 & 48.16) and Gil (1:56.07 & 1:54.95) set new life time best times in their heats and their semi-finals. Chris and Gil were again close to their new PBs in the final where they finished 6th.
Danielle Opara equalled her bronze medal from 2015 in the shot putt with a good effort of 13.47m.
New member, Pippa Rogan, fresh from her recent TVH club record of 1.75m, had another fantastic competition to claim a bronze medal with a jump of 1.72m. Ella Widdop-Gray also did very well to make the final in her first BUCS championship with a jump of 1.66m.
Katie Mellor showed a great return to form by making the 3000m final where she finished 7th in a time of 10:16.07 having run 10:12.92 the day before to qualify for the final.
