TVH Women 3rd at National Road Relays!

TVH’s senior women put in a stunning performance over the weekend to place 3rd at the prestigious National 6-stage Road Relays in Sutton Coldfield, behind winners Belgrave and silver medalist’s Leeds AC.

The brilliant team of Charlotte Buckley, Yvie Lock, Alex Mundell, Lara Sterritt, Tracy Barlow and Roxana Lopez Ramirez, gave it their all over the 5.4 km undulating course. Charlotte put the team in contention on leg 1 coming home in 11th amongst a stacked field, with Yvie then blitzing round to bring the team right up into 3rd place – wow! Strong and well-judged runs from Alex, Lara and Tracy meant the team stayed in contention for the medals, but moving into 4th owing to a speedy run from Aldershot, Farnham and District’s (AFD) GB international athlete Phillippa Bowden. Last leg saw the most excitement with Roxana absolutely flying round the course, completely focused on chasing the AFD athlete down ahead. Roxana used her track speed to move the team back into 3rd going into the final straight – the cheering was insane! A shout out to Yvie on leg 2 (18.27) and Roxana on leg 6 (18.38), clocking 5th and 10th fastest times of the day – impressive!

TVH also fielded a B team (Niamh Murphy, Esther Morrice, Tara Walker, Phillippa Grayling, Lydia Blythe and Athena Tharanos), and part C team (Byapti Nandi, Zenia Gordon and Lisa da Silva), with notably fast runs from Phillippa Grayling and relays debutant Esther Morrice! The B team finished 2nd in their category and 18th overall ahead of many A teams, showing the clubs strength and depth!

Congratulations to our amazing medalists and to all the athletes who took part in the B and C teams – you did the club proud!
