Middlesex Young Athletes Road Relays  Minet Park, Hayes Sunday 12th September 2021

The Middlesex road relays returned to Minet Park,  Hayes after the cancellation last year. 20 TVH young athletes competed, for some in their first race for TVH and with 11 taking part in the Under 15 Girls race.

One of the athletes in his first race was a well-known TVH name, Luis da Silva (wearing medal in group photo) finishing 3rd in the Under 11 boys race just 2 days after his 9th birthday and Philip Mueller in 5th place. We only had three athletes in the U13 races, Felix la Trobe, Zach Moore and Xanthe Greenfields all running well, with Felix following up his big 800m improvement at Eton the previous weekend with the equal 2nd fastest time in the U13 Boys races.

We started 4 teams in the Under 15 Girls races, Skye Bishop finishing with only one boy ahead of her and  Orla Grist, Charlotte Brown and Ava Levy separated by only 2 secs. Skye ran the 2nd fastest time two years ago in the U13 Girls race and was again 2nd fastest, 40 secs quicker than in 2019 with 11:07.

Anna Kelly was our fastest athlete on the second stage and third fastest on the day running 11:41 with Maya Sutaria also under 12 mins with 11:56.  Adela Svihalkova ran the 3rd leg for the A team, winning by more than a minute and running a time of 10:30, the second fastest ever time in the 17th year of the event at Minet Park and the fastest since 2010. TVH girls now have 3 of the 5 fastest times run in that age group; Adela, Charlotte Buckley and India Weir.

The Under 15 Boys team of Harry Greenfields, Louis Moore and Reggie Rock finished 3rd, Reggie  running the quickest leg of the team, 5 secs quicker than Louis with 11:10.   Charli Edge was our only competitor in the U17 races, finishing in a dead heat on the first leg for the equal fastest time, also 11.10.
