TVH Men Win Team Prize at the Salisbury 10

TVH have a successful trip to Wiltshire as they win the team gold in the Salisbury 10 mile road race.

Salisbury 10 miles

Alex Mundell Reports:

On the crisp, sunny morning of 13th March, a group of TVH runners from Imperial College raced in the Salisbury 10 mile race. To the surprise of many spectators, the “young university lads” of Chris Thomas, James Ellis, Matt Douthwaite and Alex Warna stole the team gold with Chris and James taking second and fifth individual placings respectively and Alex causing the drama of the day by vomiting over the line. Chris’ time of 54minutes 12 seconds places him 11th in the country currently.

The ladies did their best to match such incredible performances. Alex Mundell was fifth in the senior lady category in 68.39, the fastest time for an U20W this year, and Leanne Lyons stormed round in a ridiculously speedy time for one of her first runs back from injury. To celebrate PBs unanimously across the entire team, a trip to the local weatherspoons to sample the local culture seemed appropriate.

The Salisbury 10 (road), Sunday 13th March, results:
2nd Chris Thomas 54:12
5th James Ellis 55:09
18th Matt Douthwaite 59:18
24th Alex Warna 59:46
144th Alex Mundell (5th lady, 1st U20W) 1:08:05
428th Leanne Lyons 1:25:26
