TVH International Athletes’ incredible performances at the Glasgow International Indoor Match

Representing Scotland at the Glasgow International Indoor Match, Myles Edwards  ran a PB 3:50.47 in his international debut. Son of another TVH legend Mel Edwards, he reported on his experiences and the work behind his fantastic performance, below. Also representing Scotland at this match was Zoey Clark, a TVH International athlete who represented Scotland in the Commonwealth Games last year. Zoey ran 53.5 for the 2nd leg in the 4×400 at the Glasgow International Indoor Match helping her young team to finish in the silver medal position.

It was a truly incredible experience.  Straight from the gun I knew the race would be lightening quick as the French athlete tried to run the legs of everyone.  I was on the back of the pack and still went through 800 in 1.59 and 1200 in 3.00.  My legs were in pain on those last two laps as I dropped off the back but I was determined to enjoy the experience and leave it all on the track so to battle away and come out with 1.5 second PB is really pleasing.

It was fantastic afterwards being able to watch Zoey Clark and Kelsey Stewart (also from Aberdeen) put in impressive legs on the 4x400m relay to scoop silver behind team GB.  The whole experience showed me that all those morning runs and tough track sessions are worth it and that anything is possible with hard work and focus.

  • Well done Myles. Also, great seeing Zoey setting the standards high this year by running the fastest leg for her team and having already set two PBs in 2015 (7.59 – 60m & 24.34 – 200m).
