TVH finish second in the second SAL match

Once again sunny and warm conditions prevailed for the 2nd Southern Athletics League match of the season on Sunday at Windsor track, Eton, and there were some very good performances from the Valley men and women to finish over 20 points clear in 2nd place.

It was great to see 4 men and 3 women making their TVH SAL debut for the team, along with a good number of pb’s on the day.

The SAL Man of the Match award was won by U17 athlete Edward Sesay for taking over a second off his 400m pb to 51.56s, as well as stepping up to do back-to-back relay legs in the 4x100m and mixed 4x400m.

The SAL Woman of the Match award went to another U17 athlete Jasmine Palmer for improving her 1500m pb by 10s to 4:42.43 and then racing in the mixed 4x400m relay within an hour.

A special mention must also go to Tracy Barlow who won the A string 5000m by over a minute in 17:01.01 to post the best aggregate performance in the women’s match.

This result puts TVH in a good position to move up the SAL Division 1 league table with the next Southern Athletics League match at home at Linford Christie Stadium on Saturday June 15th.
