Andrea Broughton, TVH Chair, completed all six World Marathon Majors by running the Tokyo Marathon at the beginning of March, earning her final star. She is one of only 500 UK women to have completed all six World Marathon Majors to date. The Six Star Medal was introduced by the Abbott World Marathon Majors to honour the runners who complete all six Major marathons.

Her journey to this six star medal spans more than 20 years, beginning with the New York marathon in 2002, the Berlin marathon in 2003, Chicago in 2006 and Boston in 2012. She has run the London marathon many times, including twice with a TVH club place.

Andrea says “I am really delighted to be a six-star finisher. It wasn’t something that I set out to do, as the series was only set up in 2016, after I had already run most of the relevant marathons. However, I was able to get my previous results accredited and then secured a charity place for the Tokyo marathon through Action against Child Exploitation, ACE. I am also grateful to TVH for its training support for endurance runners”.
