Lisa Da Silva’s steady 2nd leg keeps the TVH women in 12th place.

The first leg of the 3.85k undulating course was tackled by Kirsty Addy who blitzed round to finish in 11th place amongst a highly competitive field, clocking a fabulous time of 13.44. Kirsty’s run was indicative of a return to form following bouts of injury. Next off was team manager Lisa da Silva, who stayed relaxed as GB international Jessica Judd came past in the opening stage. Lisa still managed to hold the team position of 11th completing the course in a solid time of 14.13. Then it was over to GB age group triathlete Imogen Simmonds who looked to be at ease, probably grateful to have missed the usual swimming and cycling beforehand. Imogen crossed the line in 9th place overall (in a time of 14.33), having clawed back a couple of places along the way. The final leg saw Tracy Barlow enjoying her taper for next weekend’s Berlin marathon, as she picked up one more valuable place in a personal best time of 14.08. This meant the A team finished a fantastic 8th place amongst some of the best road running teams in the country, including reigning National champions Aldershot, Farnham and District AC.

The B team of Victoria Carter, Diana Kennedy, Maire Gorman and Siana Jones was filled with positive performances. Victoria, Maire and Siana all clocked personal bests over the course (14.32, 16.56 and 14.58 respectively) and Diana improved upon her previous time set two years ago (16.10).  The B team placed 39th out of 69 complete teams (including Veteran teams), emphasising the ever improving strength and depth of TVH’s ladies middle distance squad.

The team is now looking forward to competing in the National road relays in Sutton Coldfield on the 4th October, where it is anticipated that further quality performances will be produced.
