TVH Youngsters in fine form at National Indoor Champs

A large group of 19 Thames Valley Harriers athletes competed at the National Indoor Championships in Sheffield. There were many superb performances including two new clubs records and a silver medal.

The sprinters from the Track Academy were especially in fine form. Jordan Francis led the way in the making the final of the U20 men’s sprint 60m  with a powerful run when setting a new personal best and club record run in the semi-final, 6.94. There many were other PBs and good runs in the sprints including those from Brittany Robinson (U20W 60m), Erika Yeboah (U17W 60m) and Nilrem Stewart (U20M 200m) who all just missed out on a place in their respective finals.

Another highlight of the weekend was LCS based, Hannah Hall, having missed part of last season due to injuries showed a great return to form by setting two new personal best times in the U17 200m.

Jude Bright-Davies claimed TVH’s only medal of these championships with another fine hop, skip and jump in the men’s U20 triple jump, 14.68m.

In a very competitive 800m Izzy Dye was another athlete back from a few injury niggles with a fantastic effort the women’s U20 800m. Izzy narrowly missed out on the medals as she finished 4th in the final but in doing so set a new life time best and club record time of 2:11.12.
