The outstanding performance in the Southern Inter-Counties Championships was TVH having three scorers in the bronze-winning county team. With India Weir, 12th and Kosana, 13th both getting near to their best form it was perhaps Alice Harray’s best-ever performance in 21st place which helped Middlesex to medals. It was a good indicator of their achievement when they helped to push Surrey down to 9th place. The Valley also had two other members in this team. Olivia Olsher also ran well to finish 41st and surprisingly beat Verity Walker who finished 44th.
The best individual performance came from Charlotte Buckley in the Under 15 Girls Race. With very little racing behind her this winter she did fantastically well to finish eighth in this strong event. Having their debut in high competition, Ava White led the Middlesex Under 13 team home in 19th place with a very good run and last-minute call-up, Lily Salkeld, had such a good finish, that it seemed that she should have been higher up the field with her 68th place out of 99 finishers.
Our two boys representing the county were Lucillo Burrell who was the county’s fourth scorer in the Under 17 Mens race with his 39th place and Basil Rock also gaining his county vest, finishing 78th in the Under 13 Boys race.
