Metropolitan Cross Country League, Uxbridge Saturday 4th December
We had a great turnout for the women’s and girl’s races for the third Met League fixture at the Hillingdon House Farm course in Uxbridge with both the senior and junior womens TVH teams runaway winners.
The women’s team finished with 4 of the top 8 and final scorer in 17th with 182 women finishing the race. Verity Hopkins finished in 4th place 6 secs ahead of Alex Mundell in 5th, and in 7th place Emily Todd was 6 secs ahead of new member Yvie Lock in 8th. With Chloe Baker in 12th and Lisa da Silva in 17th TVH finished well clear in the team event. Rosie Vallance was next home just outside the top 50, followed by Jess Dring-Morris, Joy Giorgi and Nadia Whittaker.
In the earlier junior (U15 & U17) race Adela Svihalkova won for the third weekend in a row, again being confident enough to stay in the lead group and sprint clear at the finish of the 4km course.

Next home for TVH in the junior race was Skye Bishop with another impressive run in 9th place, just ahead of Maya Sutaria in 10th with Charli Edge in 15th making up the scoring team. With 10 TVH athletes in the race the ‘B’ team of Anna Kelly, Kyra Gulamhuseinwala, Katerina Simakova and Orla Grist finished 5th with Ava Levy and Natasha Bennett finishing just behind Orla. TVH are now leading the team competition after three fixtures.
A competitive U11 Boys team is taking shape this season and a new team finished 2nd. Luis da Silva has run well at all of the cross country league fixtures and finished 8th of 39 runners (3rd 9 year old), Bernie Pela 10th in his second race for TVH, the youngest member of the team Thor Ceric 18th also in his second race and Elijah Nielsen 25th in his debut race. In the U13 Boys race Felix la Trobe Weston finished 24th 5 secs ahead of Zachary Moore in 38th with Sunny Jabbar in 39th. In the Junior men’s race (U17 / U15) Luca Zorzi in his second race for the club finished 24th out of 79 athletes with Louis Moore in 30th (8th U15).
The TVH men’s team wasn’t as strong as the previous fixture with some travel disruption on the day but were still able to field a competitive team. Hugo Cayssials was first home in 12th just ahead of Conor Kissane-Wood in 15th . Calum Nicol had his best run of the season in 30th, Jake Hooley returned with a good run in 38th, Daniel Benton finished 6th U20 in 46th and Ryan Keane was our sixth scorer in 62nd. Saif Saleh, Victor Steinwand, Matthew McDonnell, Manuel da Silva getting the better of Gordon Low and Steve Norris made up the 12 score team from a total of 23 TVH men in the race.

NW London Young Athletes Cross Country League
Wintery conditions arrived for the third NW London Young Athletes Cross Country League fixture at Trent Park on Saturday 27th November with a biting wind, rain and mud. In the U15 competition 45 boys and 32 girls finished the 4.5km hilly course with TVH athletes winning both races. Cameron McConnon was a runaway winner at the previous fixture but struggled for grip in the mud and left it to the final climb to pull clear. Reggie Rock had his best race of the season moving through the field to finish 6th with Louis Moore also running strongly in 10th place.
Adela Svihalkova started the race with just Cameron and one other boy ahead of her but settled for finishing with the 4th & 5th placed boys 30 secs clear of the 2nd girl. The fast starting Skye Bishop had another solid race in 6th place staying well clear of Maya Sutaria in 9th and Anna Kelly in 11th. Orla Grist, Ava Levy and Natasha Bennett were all inside the top 20, Cecilia Weber ran well in her first race for the club.
Two TVH athletes braved the conditions in the U11 race, Luis da Silva and another athlete in his first cross country race for TVH, Thor Ceric. They both ran well, Luis finishing in 8th place out of 57 finishers with Thor not far behind in 13th place. We just had one athlete in the U13 Race but Zachary Moore is improving with each race and finished midway in 26th place. In the U17 race Morris Rock and Luca Zorzi ran together with Morris just the stronger at the finish with both athletes given the same time in 12th and 13th places and Charli Edge had a competitive run in 8th place in the women’s race.
