Results round up – Track & Field Open meetings
Nilrem Stewart improved both his 100m and 400m PBs from earlier in the season at Bromley on 18th September with 10.89 secs and 48.41 secs, having run 34.77 secs for 300m a week before.
Earlier in the summer Noor-Eldin Mahmoud (U17) after a couple of training sessions jumped a 1.87m PB in a high jump competition in Finland and Adelka Svihalkova won the U13 800m Prague Athletics Championships in 2:20.
Michael Cameron after a warm-up 1500m race a week earlier improved his PB to 3:57.63 at Wimbledon on 23rd September.
At a much cooler evening in Harrow on 24th September there were some impressive performances by TVH young athletes competing over 1500m and 800m. In the 1500m Basil Rock continued his run of winning races with a new PB of 4:16.60, U15 Anna Kelly improved her best time by 4 secs to 5:20.28 ahead of Zenia Gordon (5:28.23).
In the 800m U20 Will Palmer was close to his best with 2:02.88 in his first race of the season with Max Bishop (2:03.87) just outside his recent U15 club record. Basil and Max had both improved their 800m PBs by 6 secs this season and this time it was the turn of U15 Maya Sutaria to do the same, retaking the lead in her race and sprinting the home straight to finish in 2:29.02. U13 Natasha Bennett also ran a new PB of 2:34.06 in the same race, Skye Bishop ran an understandably cautious 2:37.31 after her fall at Dagenham and Charlotte Reynaert (2:54.16) was also quicker than last year.
