Open day brings record numbers to Wormwood Scrubs parkrun

Saturday 7th September, Linford Christie Stadium/Wormwood Scrubs
Thames Valley Harrier members gathered bright and early to complete the wormwood scrubs parkrun and celebrate the successes of the season with brunch afterwards! In doing so, we helped the local parkrun achieve their record number of finishers at the event with 186 people completing the 5k course. Whilst not one of the fastest courses in the country, it is nice and flat, plus it is really good practice for the cross country season that lies ahead, with the majority of the course on grass! We definitely recommend giving it a go if you have not done so before.

Members and parkrunners alike tend to congregate at the TVH clubhouse post 5k each week to socialise and enjoy a well deserved brew and flapjack!
This week we added brunch options, with bacon butties, yoghurt, fresh fruit and granola. Thanks to Delroy for providing the food and all that came to support.
It was great for the club to come together and was also a chance to present some of our Jack Petchey awards. A big well done to:
Mia Oldfield
Jasmin Taylor
Jake Hooley
All very well deserved!
Thanks to all that came and all that helped on the day. We look forward to many more successful seasons in the future!
