National Road Relays – Men’s Report

Dan Mulryan was allocated first leg as is tradition and got the team off to a cracking start with 3rd fastest TVH leg of the day. To continue this theme, Mo Aadan ran next, racing against Jake Wightman from Edinburgh, and clocked the second fastest leg of the day. Rory Bradford flew around his leg next, clearly back in form after a recent skiing injury. Tom Bayley capitalised at being earlier on in the relay order than usual and we headed to leg 5 in 20th place. Chris Fielding had the run of the day running almost 5.5k on a hilly course in 16:15. Alex Rowe brought another stunning performance on the comeback traol from injury – clearly coming into form in time for a speedy track season. Michael Cameron and Niki Faulkner were next and these relay veterans made some great ground with times within a few seconds of each other. Basil Rock, off the back of a hard 10 days warm weather training, did the job on 9th leg and set the team up for a strong finish. Ollie Newton appeared well recovered from his stag do last weekend and produced a speedy leg. Jack Mckenna made light work of his 11th leg despite all the marathon training sitting in his legs. Shay Khan finished the day on a high with a classy performance.

Well done team manager Phil Whetton for another strong team performance!
