Mo Aadan selected for World Half Marathon

Vitality Big Half Marathon, London Sunday 1st March 2020

Mo Aadan followed up his 63:31 half marathon in Spain on 2nd February with the Vitality Big Half Marathon from Tower Bridge to Cutty Sark on Sunday 1st March with the aim of gaining selection for the World Half Marathon championships. Mo produced another solid performance, finishing 6th in 63:21 in a race won by Kenenisa Bekele and was rewarded with selection for the GB team. Mo’s attention now turns to the race in Gdynia, Poland on the 29th March.

Another TVH athlete running very well at the Big Half was Sage Pearce-Higgins, who is training for the London Marathon and produced his usual even paced race and a new PB of 70:46, sprinting past women’s race winner Lily Partridge at the finish.

Also on the road Cat Allen ran an impressive 40:26 in the Regents Park 10k on 1st March, just one  week after first breaking 20 mins in a parkrun.

Indoors –  other performances over the weekend included TVH athletes studying and racing in the States;  Katie Olding ran a  2:11.88 800m PB in Boston on 28th February and there was a Mile / 3000m double win for Jordan Rowe in Birmingham, Alabama on 2nd March.    

Angela Barrett performed well at Eton on 1st March with a 12.88m triple jump and M45 TVH Chairman Robert Datnow ran a 4:40.42 1500m at a Lee Valley Masters indoor event.
