Middlesex Indoors and English Schools Cross Country

There were some great performances by TVH athletes on the weekend of 14th to 15th March, which has proved to be the final competition weekend for some time.
Middlesex Indoors Championships, Lee Valley 14th to 15th March 2020
In the U17M sprints Reece Earle won the 60m / 200m double, with a 22.90 PB in the 200m, equal to his 2019 outdoor PB and solid 7.10 secs 60m in both the heat and final. Josh Kelly was also very impressive in both races with 7.32 secs PB in finishing 3rd in the 60m and just outside his recent 200m PB in with 23.24 secs in finishing 2nd in the 200m.
Keano-Elliott Paris-Samuel had a strong finish to the indoor season in the Senior Men’s sprints winning silver medals in both with 7.08 secs 60m and 22.42 secs 200m.
In the women’s 60m there were PBs for U20 Jasmin Taylor 8.16 secs and U17 Sia Bona 8.17 secs and Olivia Sparks was 2nd in the 300m in 43.79 secs and improved further in the 200m with 27.18 secs.

In the middle distances there was another double for a TVH athlete, Max Bishop winning the U15B 800m on the Saturday in a quick 2:10.26 and returning on the Sunday for an easy win in a well judged 1500m, all the more impressive as an injury had prevented Max from racing for a few months. Maddie Casey won the U17W Middx title by 0.06 secs in 5:03.65, a massive 10 secs PB improvement.
In the field events there were 2nd places for Stan Vilga in the pole vault and Joel Bright-Davies in the long jump, Clara Brooke was 3rd in the U15G long jump and Jake Curtis was 2cm short of his outdoor PB with 4.93m in a very close U15B long jump.
