Lorraine Ugen leaps to European Indoor silver and British record

Congratulations from all at TVH to Lorraine Ugen for winning a wonderful long jump silver medal and setting a British record in the European Indoor Championships in Belgrade.
Lorraine vied with home favourite Ivana Spanovic for the gold in a pulsating contest. After Spanovic laid down a massive 7.16m leap in the second round Lorraine fought back with an outstanding jump of 6.97m, some 4cm beyond the British indoor record she shared with Katerina Johnson-Thompson.
The mark was good enough to claim silver by 3cm from Germany’s Claudia Salman-Rath. It’s a great achievement on top of Lorraine’s bronze last year at the World Indoors in Portland. The 7m mark is next as Lorraine looks forward to a great summer season!
Footage of Lorraine’s jump is on https://youtu.be/7GfrA4QGVaY and her trademark razzle-dazzle on the introductions is here: https://twitter.com/spikesmag/status/838431437779046403?s=09
