Jude and Ann-Marie set new club records at Welsh international

Thames Valley Harriers had two athletes competing at the Welsh Athletics International match held at the indoor stadium in Cardiff and both set new club records.

Jude Bright-Davies produced his best ever performance as he earned his first international vest when competing for England. In the U20 triple jump, Jude, who is only 16 years old and still has three years left in this age group, jumped a fantastic lifetime best and club record, 14.90m, to beat his closest competitor by 23cm. This superb performance was 28cm further then his club record from the previous month when he won the South of England triple jump title. Jude is currently the top ranked U20 triple jumper in the UK. We all look forward to seeing him develop in the next few years and earning himself more international call ups.

The 3000m senior women’s race saw TVH’s Ann-Marie McGylnn representing Ireland claimed a fine 2nd in 9:27.86, also a personal best and a  new indoor club record. At the age of 35, Ann-Marie, is determined to go even faster this summer and earn herself more international honours.
