The Indoors season is now well underway and a much safer option with Storms Ciara and Dennis disrupting outdoor competitions.
Amelia Strickler set a new indoors Shot PB of 17.40m in the 1st round and then improved further to 17.51m in the 5th round at a meeting in Rochlitz, Germany on 2nd February. Amelia is ranked 2nd in the UK and finished just behind Sophie McKinna (17.56m).
New TVH member Jason Hoyle ran two 400m races in 47.92 secs and 47.94 secs in winning the Northern Championships at Sheffield on 11th January, very close to his outdoors PB of 47.87 secs.
High jumper Pippa Rogan cleared 1.80m in finishing 1st at the Welsh Championships in Cardiff on 25th January. Ugne Liuksaityte improved her 60m indoors PB to 7.69 secs at Lee Valley on 8th February.
In the 800m Charlotte Buckley ran an indoors PB of 2:11.66 at Lee Valley on 29th January, Amelia Casey improved to 2:15.14 on 19th January. Kosanna Weir (2:14.01) finished ahead of Katie Olding (2:14.77) in Boston on 24th January with India Weir running 2:15.11 in New York on 25th January. Also in the US, Jordan Rowe ran 1:55.19 in Texas on 18th January, while back in the UK Silvio Barandun ran a 1:56.45.PB at Sheffield on 14th February and Max Buckley ran 1:59.55 at Lee Valley on 2nd February.
Olivia Sparks (U15) made a big improvement in the 200m, running 27.92 secs at Lee Valley on 26th January.
