Great runs for TVH’s Young Athletes at Trent Park Met League

The Trent Park Met League fixture was held in one large field with a hard uphill run to the finish.

In the first race we had three boys and one girl competing. Max Bishop had great run to finish fourth after a battle with three Woodford Green boys. Beginning to show more confidence, Oliver Hill was 49th, just outside the top half of the field. Son of Hugo Dias, Brendon, was having his first race and although finishing 82nd had plenty of encouragement from dad. The boys team were fifth, Olivia Sparks also had a good run to be 10th girl in the race.

Nelson Gordon finished 38th in the under 13 boys race and Noor Mohammed worked hard to finish 46th and managed a good sprint finish.

The under 13 girls had Lily Dafter showing her true form when she finished 10th. Maddie Casey is also showing what she is capable of and her 14th place was her best run so far. Team spirit was at its best when Olivia Colegrave ran with a heavy cold to help the team finish in 6th place.

The Valley team of all under 15’s finished 3rd. Some clubs had U17s in their scoring team. Melina Duer led them home in ninth place closely followed by Philippine Poupart-Lafarge, 12th and Niamh Murphy 13th. Lilly Salkeld, waiting for a tonsil operation soon, still managed a good 29th position.

Lucillo Burrell was our only competitor in the under 15/17 boys race and although he finished a fine 11th he was not happy with his run,
