Lorraine wins long jump bronze for Britain

TVH’s Lorraine Ugen leaped to a magnificent long jump bronze in the World Indoor Championships in Portland.

Lorraine equaled the indoor British record of 6.93m to finish third in the long jump behind Brittney Reese of the US in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Lorraine, who joined TVH in December, said she was “ecstatic” as she overcome a tricky start to put in a massive fifth round effort and claim her medal.

She had to survive a last round scare by America’s Janay Deloach who came within four centimetres of her mark.

Lorraine, who finished fifth at the World Championships in Beijing last summer, said: “This is my first time getting on a podium, so it was fantastic to finally get some silverware.”

Congratulations from all at TVH on her achievement. You can watch footage of her jump here
