London’s best athletics club – since 1887
Thames Valley Harriers develops athletes from youth to elite and takes them to the pinnacle of athletics – gold at the Olympic Games. We are the top athletics club in the South of England, and we’ve been leading the way since 1887.
We gather people from diverse backgrounds, and inspire them to do better. We support each other, and have fun training and competing together.
The club continues to play a leading role in the development of athletics in the UK as a founding member of many of the major leagues.
Today, we enjoy taking part in track & field, cross country and road running. And we compete successfully in youth, senior and masters competitions, from grassroots to world elite, from Wormwood Scrubs to the World Championships.
One of the UK’s strongest track & field clubs, we provide our members the opportunity to train and compete in virtually every discipline, in all age groups, at all levels. Our teams perform exceptionally well. And you’ll see some of our best athletes on TV.
From October to March, our X-Country runners pull on their spikes for county, regional and national competitions. Some use cross country to develop endurance for the summer track season, while others specialise in this hardy pursuit.
Our road runners train throughout the year, and take part in our annual Ron Hopcroft Endurance Cup summer series of road races. The regional and national road relay championships take place in the spring and autumn seasons.
Thames Valley Harriers is based at Linford Christie Stadium in West London.
We train mostly on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6pm, as well as Saturday mornings.
Our #RunMore sessions take place on Sunday mornings at Wormwood Scrubs for beginner and intermediate runners.
We run our Kids on Track programme for children aged 9 and over on Saturday mornings.
Whatever your experience, come and train with us, and have fun as a member of London’s best athletics club for all ages and standards.
