About the Club
We train at Linford Christie Stadium, West London, which is situated at the back of Hammersmith Hospital and Wormwood Scrubs Prison and have our own Club House at trackside plus a Cross Country course around Wormwood Scrubs.
Thames Valley Harriers caters for every standard, from beginners to Olympic Champions, and also offers a full coaching programme. All ages, both male and female, from 11 to 99 years are welcome and we compete at all levels on the Road, Cross Country, and on Track & Field. If you are looking for more gentle activity, we also have a joggers group.
The TVH Club House at trackside is open for refreshments and a chat on training days and the hall area is used for indoor work and events. Social events held in the HQ are also part of the Club scene. Tuesday is the focal night, and we ask that all potential new members attend on this night if possible. It is also our principal training night when normally a full complement of Coaches are on hand for advice.
The various groups commence from 6pm onwards through to track closure at 9pm. We also train on Thursdays at the same time and on Sundays from 10.30am to 2pm. Distance runners (800m upwards to Half / Full Marathon) can train under the guidance of Marc Ben-Nathan on a Tuesday and Thursday only, starting at 7pm. See him at trackside.
Joggers and beginners, with Barrie Saunders normally start out at about 6.15 - 6.30pm (Tuesdays & Thursdays) and on Sundays at about 11am.
The Sprints, Jumps, and Throws training usually commences from approximately 6.45pm onwards (Tuesdays & Thursdays) and at about 11am on Sundays.
We hope that you will decide to join TVH, which has been in existence since 1887, and should you need any further information, please contact KATHY DAVIDSON on 01895 676513 or by email to: kathy@thamesvalleyh.fsnet.co.uk.
On arrival at the Stadium, say that you have come to join TVH and have been asked to report to the Club House.
